Avengers Featurette - “And Then Shawarma After” [x]

Tony passed Steve the hot sauce.  Thor looked like he was twice Tony’s size.

Eurovision semifinals are overrr wow that was exciting!

I’m so sad though that Switzerland didn’t advanceeee, I loved their song and their music video is the absolute best :’D.

Happy that Finland got into the finals though, yay!

Some of the songs that advanced (in both semifinals) were horrible though (or at least boring and so bland), although I guess some might say that about Finland’s song too haha.

And oh god I can’t stop laughing when I’m watching Romania’s performance.

Iron Man Trilogy Posters - by Nicolas Alejandro Barbera

It’s a funny thing, ambition. It can take one to sublime heights or harrowing depths. And sometimes they are one and the same.

Tony Stark learned that lesson all too well. (x)

Gotta move to Finland.

As a Finn I really am proud of how highly other countries think of our school system, but there’re some points here I’d like to clear up based on my OWN EXPERIENCES (because for the statistics I can’t really say for too sure) because as much as I like people admiring Finland and Finns for something, let’s not be unrealistic here.

Firstly, we do have homework, what the hell of course we have! From elementary school to upper comprehensive school and upper secondary school (if you don’t choose to go to a vocational school after upper comprehensive school) we definitely do have homework, I don’t understand how somebody could think that we didn’t do any homework at all, how are we supposed to learn math or practice some languages for example without any homework? Probably not everyone did their homeworks but most of us, most likely yeah.

If “there’s no homework in Finland” talks about universities it reeeally depends on what you’re studying. I study general history and I admit, for history courses I don’t have to do much homework, but if you’re studying languages or possibly physics or something similar you’ll most likely have homework (I haven’t studied physics or chemistry or anything like so I can’t say for sure).

Secondly, all of my classes in elementary school to upper secondary school have consisted of 20 or more students - as lovely as it’d be, a class with only 12 students is not very common. Not common at all.

Thirdly, and this really annoys me, but teachers are definitely not esteemed or appreciated as much as doctors or lawyers. Not even close, it’s really frustrating how people don’t seem to respect teachers at all nowadays. So, nope.

UGH sorry for the rant, and I’m not saying that all of that is untrue or that other countires’ shouldn’t learn something from us, but I don’t want people to think that education and the school system is all susnhine and roses around here because it’s not, we aren’t automatically and magically awesome at everything but we work our asses off with homework too, and the class sizes are too big and teacher’s are not appreciated enough and dozens of other things. If people wanted to learn something from our school system they should probably look at our teaching methods instead of class sizes or recess lengths.

SORRY I’ll shut up now.

(Finland’s awesome anyway! Everybody come here!)

Lux’s Iron Man Giveaway [lux-laterna.tumblr.com]

The scoop:
So basically, for the release of IM3, I’m doing a giveaway. All you have to do is reblog this, and you’re entered for the grand prize. One person will be randomly chosen for that, and then out of everyone else, 3 others will randomly chosen for those. However, being the comic book nerd I am, I still want to know why you entered. If you get chosen and are just like “because I love RDJ so much omgasldkfjsa he’s just perf,” well, I need more than that. Tony Stark is generally an asshole, so if that’s why you love him, that’s what I want to hear. Why do /you/ love Iron Man, whether it be in the movies, or comic books - this is why you love/love to hate the genius behind the red and gold suit. That’s just for the grand prize though, so don’t worry. If you win one of the other three, knock your socks off. Still want to hear why you love or love to hate Tony Stark, but it won’t determine anything.

Again, reblog, and you’re in.

DEADLINE: JUNE 22nd {and will require 50,000 notes to be closed} GP winner will be contacted by the night of the 24th, and the others by June 30.

Rock on, and good luck, and get rebloggin.
{also, because these are fun, this won’t be the last giveaway I have}

update: multiple reblogs are welcome. didn’t really think of this before. if possible though, please keep it down to three a day. i hate spam - i really do.

Random-fandom pins

I’ve been painting these kind of pins a while now and almost everyone of them is different from the other. This particular bunch came with me to the artist’s alley in Desucon Frostbite 2013.

"I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are— particularly when it’s difficult. People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me. Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain (“I’m not a big one for paying compliments…”), but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."
